A special form of the signal distribution for authorities is the direct signaling to fire departments. The signals of the automatic fire alarm centers of the single facilities are forwarded directly – without human intervention – to the competent communications center of the fire department. The application of the solution is almost inevitable because of the rapid signaling, as the quick action is the most important in case of fire.

The fire departments install and operate the fire signaling systems in some countries or regions, in other areas the individual signals are managed and transmitted to the fire departments by security companies. If the authorities adopt either solution, the following problems will arise:

• the data of the single objects are either old or incomplete, so they cannot be synchronized and updated
• there is no such uniform interface, through which the single remote controls or dispatcher services can transmit the signals
• in case of multiple systems or signaling service the person in charge at the fire department is unable to comprehend the different systems
• there are disproportionately too many technical errors and maintenance tasks due to the heterogeneous technical solutions

United Technology Alliance devised its Fire Departments Strategic Cooperation Program specifically for the solution of the above problems, for which we can offer complete support service from the design to the implementation and conception to training. Also included is the UniAlarm Dispatcher’s specialized version for fire departments, which are provided to fire departments under the program. It is also available in form of a pilot project.

The program is designed to provide fire departments with a uniform signaling infrastructure based on our international expertise of years in the field, which:

• consist of uniform, homogeneous elements and are independent of the manufacturers of the signaling devices
• achieves the display of signals securely, in a standardized way and on a single, clear interface
• helps carry out the administrative tasks of fire prevention and solves the electronic scheduling of the continuous refreshing of data
• makes it possible to interconnect with other systems (deployment control, emergency center)
